Where is best to buy flights?

We find skyscanner is a reliable website to search for the best deals on flights. In general we find that flying with either Emirates, Etihad, or Qatar Airways gives us a smooth journey. Don’t forget that when booking flights, you usually arrive the following day from your departure date! Travel is usually 14hrs+.

Travel from Airport to Hotel?

We recommend using KLOOK, a website/app to book taxi rides for long journeys. Travel from the airport to Kata Beach area takes roughly 1 hour (depending on traffic).

Once at the hotel, there are plenty of local taxis available or we recommend using an app called Grab to book taxis if you want to venture out.

What currency is used in Thailand?

Thailand uses the Thai Baht (THB).

If you have Revolut, you can easily convert your currency online and use your debit card in shops. However, in smaller shops or at markets, cash is preferred.

Cash can usually be purchased through your bank/credit union if pre-ordered or through FEXCO online.

Data

Thai Sim/data cards can be purchased on KLOOK also. You can buy a physical card which you collect at the airport when you land, or you can buy an e-sim which installs onto your phone electronically.

Visas

Most countries have a visa-free agreement with Thailand for a certain length of time. However, you do have to fill out a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within 2 days of your arrival in Thailand. Click here to apply for your TDAC.
